UK Truck and Plant Group Choose Totalkare for New Light Commercial Lifts

Totalkare have supplied three new fixed lifts to Bedford-based UK Truck and Plant Group, improving its light commercial capacity. The new additions include a pair of two post lifts and one light commercial four post lift.

UK Truck and Plant Group’s IRTE-accredited workshop offers services to cover any fleet in its entirety from company cars to large HGVs with services conducted by a team fully qualified DVSA-approved mechanics. The main activities of the facility include HGV repairs, MOT testing and services for heavy goods and light commercial vehicles.

A two post lift from Totalkare is a fixed position lifting solution for all light commercial vehicles. With a range of capacities up to 7,000kg, both two post lifts installed for UK Truck and Plant have a SWL of 5,500kg, ideal for vans with long wheelbases and suitable for other vans, tractors, emergency services vehicles and pick-up trucks. Lifting from the chassis of the vehicle, a two post lift provides full access to the wheels and underside of the vehicle without the need for support stands.

Intended to require minimal floor space, a two post lift has a baseless, double ‘S’ profile and frame free design for maximum stability. Additionally, each column is equipped with its own control unit, providing full flexibility in install location and operation, perfect for UK Truck and Plant’s busy, mixed use workshop.

Moreover, the four post lift installed in the Bedford facility has a lifting capacity of 6,500kg and a 6 metre platform, the maximum length in the range. Differing from the two post lift, a light commercial four post lift can be surface mounted or recessed into the floor to further optimise the use of space. Additionally, it has been fitted with a 2,800kg jacking beam, and ramps at either end, for additional capacity and flexibility.

By creating a designated area in the workshop for light commercial vehicles to be tested, repaired, and serviced efficiently, UK Truck and Plant will improve efficiency and capacity. This will have positive impacts across the facility, with more space available for dealing with heavier vehicles.
