Vehicle Inspection Pits

A vehicle inspection pit makes access to the underside of your vehicle easy, allowing you to work in a safe, well-lit environment with all your tools to hand. Totalkare's vehicle inspection pits are manufactured here in the West Midlands, and we can cover everything from the preparation for the installation of stand-alone brake testers through to the installation of multi-pit facilities and underground workshops.

Details

Over the last ten years or so there has been a growing understanding that vehicle inspection pits have a lot to offer. A great benefit of installing a pit in your workshop is that once its installed, it can last forever. A pit makes it possible to work underneath a vehicle at the same time as above the vehicle which can increase productivity in your workshop. Totalkare can offer a range of vehicle inspection pit lengths from six metres upwards, and can also supply and install class 4 and class 7 pits.

INSPECTION PIT ACCESSORIES

Vehicle Pit Lighting

Good light under the vehicle makes inspections quicker and safer. Our pit lighting is fitted inside the pit to give bright, even light along the full working area. Technicians can see what they are doing without a hand lamp, which helps them spot leaks, wear and damage sooner. The lights are built for workshop conditions, so they are ready for daily use.

Steps, Stairs & Ladders

A pit is only as safe as the way into it. Our access options give technicians a firm, stable route in and out, whatever the size of your workshop. They are built for heavy daily use and are designed to cope with the oil, grease and wet that come with workshop life. Choose the option that suits your pit layout, how often it is used and how much space you have.

Air Supply & Oil Management

A well-equipped pit keeps everything the technician needs within reach. Our air supply and oil management add-ons help your team work faster, keep the pit tidy and make servicing simpler.

Time spent fetching tools and clearing up spills is time lost. Our air supply and oil management options bring the essentials into the pit, so technicians can work without climbing in and out. Air outlets give a ready supply for powered tools, while oil handling equipment helps keep fluids controlled, collected and out of the way. The result is a cleaner, safer and more efficient working area.

Pit Covers

An open pit is a hazard when it is not in use. Our pit covers keep the pit safe, clean and protected, and can give you back valuable floor space.

A pit that is not being worked in should be safely closed off. Our pit covers help prevent falls, keep dirt and debris out and protect the pit from damage. They also let you use the area above as normal floor space when the pit is not needed, which makes better use of your workshop. Covers are built for the demands of a busy workshop and are designed to be easy to open and close.

Safety Rails

A pit edge needs to be clearly marked and properly protected. Our safety rails help keep your team safe around the pit, whether it is in use or not

Falls into a pit can cause serious injury, and they are easy to prevent. Our safety rails create a clear, solid barrier around the pit edge, so staff and visitors can see where the hazard is and stay protected. They are built for busy workshops, so they can cope with regular knocks and daily use. Choose a fixed or removable option depending on how you use your pit and how much access you need.
