TOTALKARE lifts boost Tiger’s growth

A fast growing manufacturing firm is helping to maintain quality standards as it continues to expand with the help of new equipment from the UK’s leading heavy-duty lifting solution’s company, TOTALKARE.

Established just 18 months ago, Cheshire-based Tiger Trailers manufactures a range of trailers including trailer vans, curtain sider trailers, double deck, rigid and even swap body trailer systems.

A year ago it was making just two trailers a week but now, at its Winsford production facility, this number has grown to 35.

Two sets of cable free lifts supplied by TOTALKARE are now playing a key role in the production process, particularly when it comes to quality control. One set of lifts is located lifts in an IVA bay where staff and VOSA inspectors use them  to carry out type approvals and the other in a PDI bay where the trailers are lifted to enable  visual inspections.
All cable free lifts at Tiger Trailer are used in conjunction with a 7.5T trailer beam to ensure safe lifting of trailers, as recommended by TOTALKARE to meet the highest safety standards.

Dan Challinor, Technical Sales and Approval Manager at Tiger Trailers, explained: “We need the lifts in order to allow us to achieve type approval on our trailers and to allow the VOSA inspectors to come and use the bay to carry out their own inspections. This speeds up the inspections process as there can often be a long wait to book into a VOSA approved lane at another facility.”

Meanwhile Phil Ellis PDI Manager  – uses the lifts on a daily basis and says and says they provide both flexibility and reliability.

“As the lifts are mobile and cable free, they can be used in both of the IVA and PDI area of our workshop,” he said. “Thanks to their maneuverability the lifts can also be moved to different bays if we are quiet in one area and busy in another.

“Without the lifts we would not be able to carry out the final inspections we need to maintain our high standards in production as we expand.”

The company itself supplies trailers to the haulage, logistics, retail and parcel sectors and prides itself on being able to deliver added value to its standard models by meeting the bespoke requirements and specifications of customers.

Tristan Johnston, Sales and Marketing Manager at TOTALKARE, added: “We’re delighted that our acclaimed lift are helping to support the growth of such a dynamic and forward thinking company.

“Our lifts have already proved their value in workshops across the country, delivering unrivalled flexibility, performance and reliability for a wide range of heavy duty vehicle lifting applications.
