TOTALKARE lifting solutions for BIFFA Waste

One of the UK’s largest waste management companies, Biffa, has taken delivery of new TOTALKARE fixed post lifts for its busy depots in Barking and Hartley Whitney.
Although TOTALKARE is best known for its acclaimed range of mobile column lifts, following a name change last year to reflect its evolution into a comprehensive vehicle lifting solutions provider, the company was ideally placed to help Biffa when its old lifts needed replacing.
Founded over 100 years ago, Biffa is now a market leader in integrated waste management, and remains at the forefront of development and innovation within the industry. The efficient operation of its diverse vehicle fleet is a key factor in the company’s ongoing success and when its existing lifts in Barking and Hartley Whitney reached the end of their serviceable life, Totalkare proposed a comprehensive lifting solution.
This has enabled Biffa to lift a variety of vehicles easily within an area of its workshop redundant since the removal of the old equipment.
Following an extensive site survey and analysis of operational requirements, the new TOTALKARE fixed post lifts were specified at 9m length with a 33,000kg lifting capacity and also benefit from lighting kits and jacking beams. The lift now in operation in Barking was specified with two jacking beams – one for the front and one for the rear of the fixed post lift – to provide for extra flexibility.
Brian Young, National Account Manager at TOTALKARE commented: “We are building on our reputation for excellence in the mobile column lift market with a range of new products and, at the same time, further strengthening our aftersales support.
“The fact that large organisations such as Biffa Waste recognise the quality of our products, and that we are now a market leader in the fixed post lift arena is a further sign that we are moving in the right direction.”
