SHORTEN ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTS IN IN-HOUSE BRAKE TESTING

Shorten Environmental, a leading transport provider to the waste and recycling industry for over 50 years, has strengthened its in-house vehicle maintenance capabilities with the installation of a Totalkare in-ground brake tester.

Operating a diverse fleet of vehicles to support its transport services, Shorten Environmental places a strong emphasis on regular maintenance and safety checks. The addition of the DVSA-approved in-ground brake tester enables the company to carry out accurate brake performance testing directly within its workshop, reducing reliance on external facilities and improving operational efficiency.

Designed for heavy commercial vehicles, the Totalkare brake tester provides precise and repeatable results, helping technicians quickly identify braking issues and ensure vehicles meet required safety standards. Its in-ground design allows for seamless integration into the workshop floor, maintaining a clean and efficient working environment while maximising available space.

Commenting on the investment, Liam Shorten at Shorten Environmental said:

“Investing in the Totalkare in-ground brake tester has been a great step forward for our workshop. It allows us to carry out brake testing quickly and accurately on-site, which improves efficiency and helps us keep our fleet safe and compliant at all times.”

Jay Chauhan, UK Sales Manager at Totalkare, added:

“We’re delighted to support Shorten Environmental with this installation. The in-ground brake tester is a reliable and efficient solution for workshops looking to bring brake testing in-house, and it will help the team maintain high safety standards while improving productivity.”
