TotalKare enjoys sales success at Euro Bus Expo 2018

A series of sales including a ‘first’ order from a Welsh local authority topped off a hugely successful Euro Bus Expo 2018 for TotalKare.

The UK’s specialist provider of heavy-duty vehicle lifting solutions sold the Four Post lift it was displaying at the 3-day show in Birmingham, with the Council planning to use it to help it improve servicing and maintenance of its fleet of vehicles.

Staff from the Halesowen-based company also recorded the most enquiries it had ever taken at the show, with lots of interest in its T8DC and T8AC mobile column lifts and its new online training platform designed to improve safety in the sector.

“Our heavy-duty Four Post lift is the ideal solution where a fixed position for lifting operations is needed and the flexibility of mobile vehicle lifts is not required,” explained Steve Braund, Sales and Marketing Manager at TotalKare.

“The one at Euro Bus Expo was lifting a Temsa MD9 coach – generously supplied by Arriva Bus and Coach – and immediately drew the attention of the local authority. They were so impressed they placed the initial order there and then and will shortly be taking delivery of the lift that is 9 metres long, capable of lifting 25,000kg and comes with lighting and a jacking beam.”

Interest in training platform

He went on to add: “The deal was the icing on the cake of a very strong Euro Bus Expo 2018 for TotalKare, with lots of interest across our product range and in our recently launched online training platform.

“We have spent 18 months developing the smart phone/tablet-based programme, which gives individuals the chance to complete two core modules (rules and regulations and safe use of ancillary equipment) before adding on an instructional unit on how to use the lifts in their workshop.

“Feedback from initial industry users has been very impressive, with many citing the flexibility of the course and a reduction in downtime caused by staff no longer being away from core roles.

“To drive uptake of the CPD-approved training, we have developed a new 30 second video advert that will be launched on social media and via e-newsletter this week.”

Introducing 5-year lease

TotalKare also used Euro Bus Expo 2018 to promote a new 5-year leasing option for customers looking to acquire new mobile column lifts.

This introduction, which was made after extensive feedback from existing clients, means firms can now spread the cost of the initial purchase of vital pieces of workshop equipment over a longer period.

The package includes full service and reports of thorough examination to ensure the lifts are working efficiently and to minimise expensive downtime.

Steve concluded: “We recognise the introduction or replacement of vehicle lifting equipment in a workshop represents a significant investment. By offering an extended 5-year leasing option, we’re helping customers to smooth the cost while also benefiting from our world class AfterKare service provision.”
