John Hudson Trailers Boosts Capacity with Heavy Duty Fixed Lift From Totalkare

Renowned trailer firm John Hudson Trailers has improved its service and repair capacity after taking a heavy duty commercial four post lift from workshop equipment experts, Totalkare.

With a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles and trailers, John Hudson Trailers specialise in the sale, hire and servicing of a variety of commercial trailers, including curtainsiders, platforms, low loaders, step frame trailers and plant carriers among others, all stored and maintained at its yard and offices in Bawtry, South Yorkshire.

The Bawtry depot also offers commercial vehicle testing, tachograph calibration and fleet servicing for HGVs, PSVs and light commercial vehicles. The heavy duty commercial four post complements John Hudson Trailers’ existing three sets of Totalkare T8AC mobile column lifts.

Whilst mobile column lifts can be moved around a workshop and stored to maximise space when not in use, the new heavy duty four post lift is installed in a fixed position, creating a designated structure within the workshop to support the lifting of vehicles for maintenance and repair, improving productivity in one of its busiest functions.

Totalkare’s heavy duty four post lifts have a lifting capacity of between 8,000 and 35,000kg and a platform length of between 7 and 18m. The model taken by John Hudson Trailers is 16,000kg capacity and 8m in length to ensure it can cover the entire commercial fleet. The lift is also fitted with an air operated jacking beam capable of lifting up to an additional 12,000kg. The lift has been surface-mounted, but Totalkare can also recess installations into the floor to maximise space if required.
