Co-operative sees immediate dividends following arrival of new lift

Servicing and maintaining a huge variety of vehicles, Lincolnshire Co-op’s transport depot is seeing a significant improvement in productivity with the arrival of a new fixed post lift from TOTALKARE.
From funeral hearses to bread vans, not to mention larger delivery HGVs, the facility on the outskirts of Lincoln is responsible for the service, repair and maintenance of the Co-op’s fleet of more than 200 vehicles.
It is also home to a number of vehicle lifts and a pit, but the new fixed post lift that has replaced an old inspection ramp is the star of the show.
Nick Jones, Lincolnshire Co-op Fleet Manager, explained: “The new lift has improved the overall appearance of the depot, which is important to us as we also deal with members of the public, providing servicing and repairs for Co-op members.
“More importantly though, we have been able to run a more efficient operation thanks to the TOTALKARE lift. The built in lights make it easier for engineers to work underneath the vehicles and their ease of use speeds up the entire operation.”
The 9m, 25,000kg capacity lift installed by TOTALKARE also features attached run up ramps to improve health and safety at the depot by reducing trip hazards. But, what Nick says has impressed him most, is the service and professionalism of the TOTALKARE team.
“We first saw the lifts at the CV Show earlier this year and since then engineers from TOTALKARE have worked with us to develop the ideal solution for our needs at a competitive price.
“At the same time, this investment shows our commitment to keeping Lincolnshire Co-op vehicles on the road to deliver the best products and services to our customers.”
Tristan Johnston, Sales and Marketing Manager at TOTALKARE, added: “We are delighted that the new fixed post lift has been so well received. Thanks to their reliability, ease of installation and operation and relatively low cost these lifts are becoming an increasingly popular alternative to pits and ramps.”
Available in a range of capacities from 16,000kg–33,000kg and with platform lengths of 7–18m, the fixed-post lifts are suitable for lifting most types of bus or coach, and the lighter models are ideal for minibuses and other more compact public service vehicles. Galvanised versions are also available for outdoor and wash bay use.
