Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity is TotalKare’s charity of 2019

TotalKare is pleased to announce Birmingham Children’s Hospital has been selected as its charity partner for 2019.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity aims to raise funds to make a real difference to the young patients at the hospital and to their families, providing the very best experience possible for them during difficult times. Every patient and family at Birmingham Children’s Hospital will have been touched by the hospital’s charity in some way, whether that’s through a newly refurbished playroom or ward, a state-of-the-art piece of equipment or even a toy at Christmas.

Making the darkest times a little brighter

Towards the end of 2018, TotalKare invited its staff to offer suggestions for its 2019 charity partner, which was followed by a company-wide vote with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity receiving almost unanimous support. Jess Porter, Internal Sales Manager, put forward the suggestion for this Charity, and explained that “last year I had a baby cousin born with a rare breathing disorder affecting only 1,000 people worldwide. Charlie spent his first four months in a children’s hospital, and they looked after him so well. As Birmingham is local to home, I picked this charity so we could raise money for other young children experiencing health problems and to put smiles on their faces.”

The marketing team went to visit the hospital at the beginning of January, and Clare Abrey, Marketing Executive said “It was heart-warming to hear how donations and fundraising efforts can make such a difference to the lives of the children and their families. It’s about providing more than just the necessities, and making what may be the darkest time in someone’s life just a little brighter.”

Kind-hearted support

Kirsty White, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity visited the TotalKare office to talk to the team about the charity and fundraising opportunities and said “It was lovely to get the opportunity to tell the TotalKare staff more about our hospital’s charity and all the ways their kind-hearted support will help us to continue to go above and beyond for our sick kids. I am really looking forward to working with the team on all of their fundraising ideas and plans in the year ahead!”
