Barnes Group installs TotalKare lifts for DAF truck servicing

TotalKare is pleased to announce it has been selected by FG Barnes Group to provide heavy duty vehicle lifting solutions for its truck centre in Guildford.

The Group’s award-winning Barnes DAF division, which operates two state-of-the-art truck centres in Shoreham and Guildford, recently commissioned TotalKare to install two sets of four T8AC mobile column lifts at the latter to replace ProLifts which had reached the end of their useful life.

The introduction of the TotalKare mobile column lifts, which have a safe working load of 7,500kg per column, will enable engineers at the centres carry out a range of services including repairs, maintenance, MOTs and more on a range of vehicles. Such is the flexibility of the T8AC mobile column lift, it can be deployed as a set of four, six or eight, meaning Barnes DAF can lift everything from light commercial vehicles through to heavy duty multi-axle vehicles.

Working quicker and smarter

“As one of the largest independent DAF dealers, our truck centres are extremely busy, offering extended hours servicing at both locations,” said Service Manager Alan Matthews, “The addition of the two sets of TotalKare mobile column lifts enables us to work quicker and smarter, delivering value to our customers.”

Adam Bowser, Area Sales Manager for TotalKare commented “Barnes Group has been a terrific customer for TotalKare for several years and were already operating our lifts in their Shoreham workshop. It therefore made sense to equip the Guildford centre with the same quality from the UK’s number one provider of mobile column lifts.”

Barnes Group have also taken up a repair and maintenance AfterKare service contract with TotalKare, meaning they’ll benefit from the 24/7 service hotline and the peace of mind that the T8AC lifts will be regularly serviced in line with the standards set out by the Provisions and Use of Workshop Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).
