WASH BAY COLUMN LIFTS UPGRADE

A Hartlepool-based fire brigade has upgraded its vehicle maintenance facilities by returning to workshop equipment experts Totalkare for a new wash bay solution.

Cleveland Fire Brigade serves the borough authorities of Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees, employing 600 people across its 14 community fire stations and covers approximately 600km2, centring around the mouth of the River Tees. A population of over 560,000 people, living in over 249,000 dwellings, benefit from the services provided by the Brigade.

The workshop of Cleveland Fire Brigade had previously been using a galvanised fixed post wash bay vehicle lift, however this had reached the end of its useful life and required urgent replacement. As an existing Totalkare customer, they turned to the workshop specialists for a better solution to their existing setup.

The answer was Totalkare’s G8AC wash bay mobile column lift, which provides Cleveland Fire Brigade with the flexibility of having a truly mobile vehicle lift in their wash bay facility. There is no installation or ground preparation requirement, and its manoeuvrability makes it an attractive alternative to a fixed four post lift, particularly for workshops where space is at a premium.

The lifts themselves are hot galvanised with sealed bearings, providing long term protection from water ingress, making them lift ideal for outside use and the UK’s only genuinely fit-for-purpose wash bay mobile column lifts. Each column can lift up to 7,500kg and together they can be configured in sets of four, six or eight to suit a range of lifting requirements.  Additionally, the G8AC features adjustable forks to accommodate the lifting of a wide range of wheel diameters.
