UK TRUCKREPAIRS UPGRADES IN-HOUSE TESTING SOLUTION

Southeast commercial vehicle repairer UK Truckrepairs have updated their Hatfield depot with an in-ground brake tester from workshop equipment experts Totalkare.
The company had previously been using a mobile brake tester which had been approaching its end of life, meaning a new in-house testing solution was required. With a fleet of over 100 vehicles to test regularly including trucks, trailers, tractor units and rigids, a simple yet robust and flexible brake tester was necessary to maximum fleet availability.
Totalkare’s in-ground brake tester has one of the strongest designs on the market and is built to withstand a high daily throughput of fully laden light and heavy vehicles with an axle load up to 18,000kg. The 7000 in-ground brake tester is HGV/ATF DVSA-approved and can be supplied with optional upgrades to enhance its suitability to meet the toughest of vehicle inspection centre or workshop requirements. The brake tester comes with a PC, printer, monitor, cabinet and tablet device as standard, the latter enabling brake tests to be conducted from the driver’s seat in a matter of minutes.
John Culora at UK Truckrepairs said “We have a long-standing relationship with Totalkare ever since our purchase of mobile column lifts and were impressed with the quality of the in-ground brake tester. Totalkare also carried out our civils work and ensured that the recess was the correct size for the brake tester.”
Adam Bowser, Sales Director at Totalkare, commented “We were able to install the brake tester within the time frames specified by UK Truckrepairs, allowing them to continue testing vehicles without any downtime. The mobile brake tester complements their existing mobile column lifts, providing UK Truckrepairs with the latest in lifting and testing technology for their workshop.”
