SUNHILL TRANSPORT UPGRADES BRAKE TESTER WITH TOTALKARE

Sunhill Transport Ltd, a Gold FORS and CLOCS Champion has upgraded its in-house brake testing capabilities with an in-ground brake tester from Totalkare.
With a large and varied fleet, Sunhill Transport specialises in steel, building products and bulk horticultural transportation across the UK, managing vehicle maintenance in-house. With its existing in-ground brake tester reaching the end of its useful life, Sunhill Transport turned to Totalkare for an improved replacement.
The main reason is that Totalkare’s in-ground brake tester, being a perfect fit in this circumstance. The BM 14200 model could fit in the hole vacated by the previous brake tester with a special EB30 adapter. The customer simply removed the old rollers and left everything prepared for Totalkare to install the new equipment.
Totalkare’s DVSA-approved in-ground brake tester is strong, durable and suitable for testing all vehicles up to a maximum axle load of 20,000kg. The in-ground brake tester can be installed as a standalone application, across an existing pit or as part of an Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) lane.
Smooth transition
It comes supplied with a handheld tablet unit that communicates wirelessly with the brake tester, offering an advantage over traditional fixed displays which can often be obscured by the vehicle being tested. By using the tablet, you can test from the comfort of the driver’s seat in a matter of minutes.
Peter Jones at Sunhill Transport said, “We were very impressed with the smooth transition by Totalkare replacing the old brake rollers and implementing their model. As there was no need for and further civils, this has helped us keep installation costs to a minimum, whilst improving compliance, garage efficiency and productivity with the added benefit of cost savings, by removing costs we’d otherwise be facing with off-site testing. “
Brian Young, Area Sales Manager at Totalkare said, “The EB30 sub frame is a big benefit when replacing old in-ground brake testers – it is simply like replacing an old machine with a new one, without the need for any hard labour. The purchase of Sunhill Transport’s new in-ground brake tester will be backed up by a service contract to give them peace of mind on their equipment for years to come.”
