Monmouthshire County Council Returns For Totalkare Test Equipment

Monmouthshire County Council chooses Totalkare mobile brake tester

The highways department at Monmouthshire County Council has returned to Totalkare for commercial vehicle workshop testing equipment.

The highways department, which maintains the Council’s fleet of municipal waste and passenger transport vehicles, has introduced both a mobile brake tester and headlamp tester from the UK’s lifting and testing experts in order to fully test vehicles prior to MOT.  They will complement the existing heavy duty four post lift on site previously installed by Totalkare.

The DVSA-approved, connected equipment-ready mobile brake tester from Totalkare is strong, durable and suitable for testing all vehicles up to a maximum axle load of 16,000kg.  It comes supplied with computer, printer, cabinet and handheld touchscreen tablet – which enables tests to be conducted in a matter of minutes from the comfort of the driver’s seat.

The Council’s mobile brake tester also features bi-directional rollers and extended on ramps to facilitate accurate testing of vehicles with varying numbers of wheel axles.  It will be supported by a Totalkare service contract which allows for two engineer visits and calibrations per year.

The brake tester is accompanied by a 2500 headlamp tester from Totalkare.  Incorporating photodiode technology, the headlamp tester features automatic positioning to achieve a precise alignment on the light beam and LCD display for easy data reading.

“Undertaking brake and headlamp beam tests in-house in preparation for MOT testing will help minimise vehicle downtime, maximising the availability of the Council’s fleet,” said George Georgiou, Area Sales Manager for Totalkare, “Bringing key processes like brake tests in-house with Totalkare equipment is saving our customers significant time and money and it’s pleasing to extend the level of support we provide to Monmouthshire County Council through the provision of our mobile brake tester and headlamp tester.”
