In a strategic move towards enhancing efficiency and reducing physical strain in their workshop, a Wolverhampton-based haulage company has acquired a heavy-duty tyre changer from workshop equipment experts Totalkare.
Established in 1974, Mainline Haulage has evolved from operating a single Transit van in Wolverhampton to managing a sophisticated fleet of approximately 40 HGVs. Now operating an 11-acre distribution centre offering over 100,000 square feet of warehousing space and a state-of-the-art maintenance facility, the compan’s latest investment is set to dramatically reduce time and effort spent changing tyres for it HGV fleet.
The jewel in the crown of Totalkare’s tyre changer range, the NAV101 offers swift and easy changing of tyres and has streamlined Mainline’s tyre servicing processes. Its unique design, equipped with a 4-roller system, ensures a seamless dismounting and mounting experience that takes less than 60 seconds per tyre.
Notably, each bead breaker is supported by two independently controlled arms, each featuring two rollers—one conical for bead pressure and one cylindrical for sidewall support.
Having initially trialled the NAV101 on a demonstration basis, Mainline Haulage quickly realised the value it brought to their maintenance facility, impressed with how effortlessly the NAV101 handled super single tyres.
Damien Lack, Managing Director of Mainline Haulage, commented “The Totalkare NAV101 has exceeded our expectations, offering not only efficiency gains but also contributing to a safer and more comfortable working environment for our team.”
Mark Edwards, Area Sales Manager for Totalkare’s Wheel Service Division, agreed “We’re pleased to see Mainline Haulage leverage the advanced capabilities of the NAV101 Tyre Changer. Its quick operation and user-friendly features make it a valuable asset for any commercial vehicle workshop.”
