Lifting and Testing Equipment Upgrade for SLJ Commercials
SLJ Commercials, a specialist provider of HGV maintenance and repairs and 24/7 breakdown assistance, has significantly enhanced its workshop capabilities with the acquisition of a comprehensive range of Totalkare lifting and testing equipment. The investment enables the business to provide faster, safer and more efficient service for its commercial vehicle customers.
The upgrade includes a set of four T8AC cabled mobile column lifts, paired with tall and short axle support stands, providing versatile and high-capacity lifting solutions for a wide range of commercial vehicles. This equipment allows SLJ Commercials’ technicians to safely and efficiently work on heavy vehicles, improving workflow and minimising vehicle downtime.
To strengthen compliance and in-house testing capabilities, the company has installed an in-ground brake tester with integrated load simulation. The load simulation system replicates fully laden conditions on each axle during testing, ensuring accurate brake performance results while meeting current legislative requirements. By testing under simulated loads, SLJ Commercials can now deliver more reliable and precise brake assessments, reduce reliance on external testing facilities, and achieve faster turnaround for fleet customers. Totalkare also completed the necessary groundworks to ensure the brake tester was installed safely and efficiently.
Additional equipment includes a 500kg capacity wheel dolly for safe and easy wheel movement, and a headlamp tester to ensure accurate beam alignment. Together, these systems allow SLJ Commercials to offer a fully integrated, high-quality service under one roof.
Enhancing Safety, Efficiency, and Customer Service
By investing in this comprehensive suite of lifting and testing equipment, SLJ Commercials has improved workshop efficiency and enhanced the safety of its technicians while ensuring fleet vehicles are serviced and tested to the highest standards. The upgraded workshop also supports the company’s ability to provide rapid response for 24/7 breakdown assistance, reducing vehicle off-road time and supporting customer satisfaction.
Commenting on the investment, Sam Jeffries at SLJ Commercials said:
“The new equipment from Totalkare has transformed our workshop. The combination of mobile column lifts, in-ground brake testing with load simulation, and complementary tools like the wheel dolly and headlamp tester allows us to carry out a wide range of maintenance and repair work in-house. It’s a real game-changer for efficiency and quality, and it ensures we can keep our customers’ vehicles safe and roadworthy at all times.”
Jay Chauhan, Area Sales Manager at Totalkare, added:
“We’re delighted to support SLJ Commercials with a full workshop upgrade. The T8AC mobile column lifts, brake tester with load simulation and additional equipment give them a highly capable, compliant and versatile workshop. This installation demonstrates how investing in the right equipment can improve safety, workflow, and service quality while meeting the latest legislative requirements.”
