Island Waste Acquires Workshop Equipment From Totalkare

Recycling specialist Island Waste has turned to Totalkare for vehicle lifting equipment to support the continued repair and maintenance of their refuse vehicles.

Committed to reducing Guernsey’s waste by 70%, Island Waste diverts over 12,000 tonnes of rubbish from landfill to recovery or re-use every year, and its fleet of vehicles play a big part in help achieve this, which makes keeping them roadworthy critical to Island Waste’s business

To support ongoing vehicle maintenance, Island Waste has invested in a set of mobile column lifts from lifting and testing experts Totalkare, as well as a forklifter ramp attachment to facilitate the safe lifting and maintenance of forklift trucks on site. The mobile column lifts will provide greater flexibility and efficiency when it comes to vehicle maintenance, while the forklifter ramp system enables a pair of mobile column lifts to be used to lift a forklift truck for service and major component replacement.

Totalkare has provided a set of T8AC cabled mobile column lifts, each with a safe working load of 7,500kg. They can be synchronised in sets of four, six or eight – enabling the safe lifting of vehicles weighing up to 60,000kg – and the T8AC’s adjustable wheel forks facilitate the lifting of vehicles with a range of wheel diameters without the need for additional wheel adapters.

Working in conjunction with Totalkare’s mobile column lifts, the forklifter system can not only save you time, but can improve productivity, efficiency and increase safety levels within the workshop. It is also cost effective, both in terms of comparison with alternative lifting methods and increased efficiency on an operational sense.
