An Essex municipal vehicles supplier has added a Class 7 MOT bay to its workshop with help from garage equipment experts Totalkare. The family-owned business has an expansive workshop which has previously been equipped with Totalkare products and has again turned to the Midlands-based specialists for the supply of a brand new MOT bay.
Based in Basildon, Fiveways Hire was established in 1998 and specialises in the short and long term hire of refuse collection vehicles, hook lifts, rear-end and front-end loaders, skip lorries and tippers within the UK.
In introducing the Class 7 MOT Bay, Totalkare worked closely with Fiveways throughout the process, from design and DVSA application to civil works and installation before finishing the job with resin flooring.
The MOT bay package includes:
A light commercial four post lift with a 6,500kg capacity and 6-metre length platform with built-in play detection plates which not only saves room by eliminating the need for a separate application but also saves time by allowing the user to perform the test while the vehicle is on the lift.
The light commercial four post lift has been recessed into the floor for a flush fit making best use of space in the MOT bay. Fiveways Hire can use the area taken by the lift as standing room when using the in-ground brake tester. With a 6,000kg maximum axle load and the latest DVSA ATL software, Totalkare’s Class 7 brake tester boasts a wide number of features including vehicle weighing and four wheel drive testing.
Totalkare will support Fiveways Hire new MOT bay with a service contract which includes two engineer visits for service and calibration per year.
Emma Cheesman, Head of Development for Fiveways said “We have previously used Totalkare and were very happy, so it made complete sense to continue the relationship. The fact that we are provided quality after sales service and maintenance is a big plus for us. We are very excited about the added flexibility that having the Class 7 MOT bay will bring to our business”.
James Atkins, Area Sales Manager, commented: “It has been a real joy to work with Fiveways Hire, it’s clear to see that as a business they are moving forward and looking towards the future, and we’re incredibly excited to support them as they continue to flourish”.
