SHROPSHIRE FIRE AND RESCUE INVEST IN IN-GROUND BRAKE TESTER
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service has enhanced its in-house vehicle maintenance capabilities with the installation of an in-ground brake tester supplied by workshop equipment experts Totalkare.
The service operates a large and varied fleet of emergency response vehicles across the county, each requiring regular and reliable brake testing to ensure optimum safety and performance.
Totalkare’s in-ground brake tester is designed to deliver fast, accurate brake test results across a range of vehicles and axle weights, making it ideal for heavy-duty use in fleet and emergency service environments. The unit has been installed in the brigade’s main workshop, where it will be used to test a wide range of emergency vehicles including fire engines and support units.
Our in-ground brake tester is strong, durable and suitable for testing all vehicles up to a maximum axle load of 20,000kg. It comes supplied with a handheld tablet unit that communicates wirelessly with the brake tester, offering an advantage over traditional fixed displays which can often be obscured by the vehicle being tested.
Ben Simmons, at Shropshire Fire and Rescue, said: “We needed a reliable solution that could handle the demands of our fleet and support our commitment to vehicle safety. Totalkare’s in-ground brake tester was the right choice – it’s robust, easy to use, and integrates well with our current setup. The installation and support from the Totalkare team has been excellent.”
George Georgiou, Area Sales Manager at Totalkare, added: “It’s a privilege to support Shropshire Fire and Rescue in keeping their fleet safe and operational. Our in-ground brake tester is well-suited to high-demand environments like theirs, and we’re pleased to provide the tools they need to carry out essential brake testing in-house.”
The investment is part of Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service’s ongoing commitment to ensuring their vehicles remain in top condition and ready to respond when needed.
