SCAMMELL COMMERCIAL LTD INVESTS IN TOTALKARE LIFTING EQUIPMENT

Commercial vehicle specialists Scammell Commercial Ltd has upgraded its lifting facilities with workshop equipment experts, Totalkare. The Essex-based firm offer commercial vehicle MOT testing, vehicle hire, roadside assistance and on-site repair services for light commercial and heavy-duty vehicles. The installation includes a Y-MECH Lift, a Two-Post Lift and two sets of Totalkare’s T8DC cable-free mobile column lift to bolster the existing workshop.

The 25,000kg capacity Y-MECH Lift will be surface mounted with a nine metre platform, suitable for most heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Installed by Totalkare, the Y-MECH Lift is also fitted with lighting and a 16,000kg twin-ram jacking beam to make wheel access easy. Available in platform lengths from six metres and lifting capacities up to 35,000kg, the lift has no posts, to maximise workshop space and provide optimal working space around the lift for the maintenance, repair and under-chassis washing of commercial vehicles.

To further amplify the existing ability to service light commercial vehicles, Scammell Commercial Ltd chose a 5,500kg Two Post Lift with an adaptor suitable for Class 7 vehicles, including long wheel base vans. The baseless frame free design, dual-column control and double S profile provides safe and efficient lifting without compromising on floor space.

The fixed installation lifts will be supplemented by two sets of T8DC to provide 2 additional lifting bays when required. Fully mobile, the cable-free column lifts can be wheeled into storage to make way for other services when not in use. Working in sets of four, six or eight, each column has a capacity of 7,500kg providing Scammell Commercial Ltd with the possibility of lifting 60,000kg across four axles.
