Robins of Herstmonceux Invests in New Totalkare Brake Tester

Robins of Herstmonceux, a family-run business with more than 50 years of service have taken a step forward in their workshop equipment efficiency with their installation of a Totalkare in-ground brake tester.

As a well-established agricultural business, Robins of Herstmonceux operates a diverse fleet of haul and supply vehicles, delivering topsoil, waste transfer, aggregates, and garden supplies. Keeping this fleet in peak condition is a top priority, and the new brake tester is set to enhance both safety and operational efficiency.

The in-ground brake tester allows for vehicle testing up to a maximum axle load of 20,000kg, enabling the company to carry out brake tests directly in their own workshop, saving valuable time and maximising productivity.

The system is supplied with a wireless handheld tablet that communicates directly with the brake tester. This gives operators the flexibility to control and monitor tests straight from the driver’s seat.

Trevor Griffin, Mechanic at Robins of Herstmonceux says:

“We’ve always aimed to stay ahead when it comes to the equipment we use. The in-ground brake tester from Totalkare gives us the accuracy and reliability we need for our vehicles. The installation process was seamless, and the support from Totalkare has been excellent.”

James Phare, Sales Manager at Totalkare, added:

“It’s great to see a long-established, family-run business like Robins of Herstmonceux continuing to invest in modern workshop technology. The in-ground brake tester will make day-to-day testing more efficient ad deliver long-term value to their operation.”
