Cheshire Farm Machinery Launches ‘Trailer MOT’ with Totalkare Agricultural Brake Tester
Cheshire Farm Machinery, a leading provider of agricultural equipment based in Northwich, has recently invested in an agricultural brake tester from workshop equipment experts Totalkare to enhance the safety and roadworthiness of trailers for their customers.
With a strong commitment to safety, Cheshire Farm Machinery aims to help customers keep their trailers in optimal condition for the road. As part of this commitment, they are now offering a comprehensive ‘Trailer MOT’ service, following the introduction of BAGMA Agricultural Tractor Trailer Scheme’s 35-point check to ensure trailers meet stringent safety standards.
The Totalkare agricultural brake tester provides a precise, detailed assessment of brake condition and efficiency for each axle, identifying specific areas that need attention far more effectively than a standard decelerometer test.
Equipped with a built-in axle pull-down system and a hydraulic power station, the brake tester can operate independently of the tractor, delivering accurate results for axle loads between 16,000 and 20,000kg, and offering single or bi-directional testing options to suit a variety of trailer types.
Andrew Dutton for Cheshire Farm Machinery shared their enthusiasm for the new offering: “At Cheshire Farm Machinery, we believe that only carrying out a visual inspection falls far short of proving a trailers braking effectiveness, we prioritise safety and are excited to provide our customers with a reliable way to ensure their trailers are in top condition. Our ‘Trailer MOT’ service is designed to give peace of mind to farmers and operators, knowing their equipment meets the rigorous standards of the BAGMA Agricultural Tractor Trailer Scheme.”
George Georgio, Area Sales Manager at Totalkare, praised Cheshire Farm Machinery’s proactive approach to safety: “We are pleased to provide Cheshire Farm Machinery with our brake tester, specifically designed for the needs of the agricultural sector, ensuring trailers remain roadworthy and safe. The brake tester is an excellent asset for promoting trailer safety among their customers.”
