On public highways the legal requirement for both hydraulic and pneumatic trailer brakes travelling below 40kph (25mph) is 25% braking efficiency. If being driven at speeds above 40kph (25mph) a braking efficiency of 45% is required.
An agriculture mobile brake tester from Totalkare will provide you a great level of detail of the condition and efficiency of brakes on each axle and will identify specific problem areas, much more than a decelerometer will provide. With a built in axle pull down system and hydraulic power station (to operate brakes independently of the tractor) you can ensure accurate results every time.
